Hyperlink Tracking in Mailings
When a mailing is sent from Delightable, your URLs (hyperlinks) in your HTML and text versions will be automatically tracked for reporting purposes. Tracking is done by modifying the URL in your mailing with a redirect URL that will come to Fishbowl's servers where we register the click on the hyperlink then redirect to the URL you included in your mailing. This tracking allows us to capture the click to the mailing, to the specific hyperlink, and to the member who clicked.
Example:
clickable text | Visit Us Online |
a href (URL) | https://www.fishbowl.com/ |
tracked URL | http://fishbowlinc.fbmta.com/a/0/36536403962/36508761399/default.aspx |
If you include a hyperlink where the clickable text matches, or closely matches, the a href, we will prevent tracking of the URL. We do this to prevent an email client or spam filter from miss-identifying the URL as "spammy". Because link tracking is required for reporting, it is recommended that the clickable text not be a URL.
The following examples will not be tracked:
clickable text | https://www.fishbowl.com/ |
a href (URL) | https://www.fishbowl.com/ |
Or:
clickable text | fishbowl.com |
a href (URL) | https://www.fishbowl.com/ |
Or:
clickable text | www.fishbowl.com/ |
a href (URL) | https://www.fishbowl.com/ |
